Lamlifew Elementary School graduation photos SY 2012 - 2013

There were 22 graduates (12 females, 10 males) for the School Year 2012 - 2013 from the Lamlifew Elementary School. The graduates wore their traditional Blaan costumes instead of the commonly used toga. Lamlifew Elementary School is the pilot school in Sarangani for the implementation of the Mother-Tongue Based Multi-Lingual Education (MTB-MLE). The MTB-MLE program of the Department of Education is an initiative to "integrate indigenous culture in the regular education curriculum using the first language of the majority of the this case, the Blaan dialect" according to the Dep-Ed Sarangani Division Language Coordinator, Ms. Elizabeth Torres.
