AMQNHS 4th Graduation Exercises

By Jennifer Soguilon Dela Sierra, Teacher-in-Charge

Amado M. Quirit National High School (AMQNHS) 4th Graduation Exercises was held last March 31, 2014 at 8:00 AM with a theme: HINDI NATITINAG ANG PUSONG PILIPINO. It was simple yet very remarkable event not just by the 70 graduates but by their parents as well. The school prepared so much for this. Teachers and SSG Officers wore Filipiniana dress as a motif of the event. The pride and happiness in the eyes of the parents as the emcees Mary Rose Rodney Tanquerido and Mae Shipaul Sandoval called the names of their child and escorted them during processional march are very much apparent and can be felt by those who witnessed the event. Rebecca Gregorio, Education Program Specialist, was the duly authorized representative of the SDS Isagani Dela Cruz confirmed the graduates.

Students achievers were awarded and Jovelyn T. Tico was hailed as the class valedictorian. Stakeholders were also given a certificate of recognition. Theoffany Joy Cabanda, a proud Blaan, an achiever at a very young age and a practicing Christian, inspired the graduates as the KEYNOTE speaker. Her 3Ds: Disisyon, Disiplina, Diyos as secret to succeed in life despite of its adversities is very much internalized by the graduates. Vice Mayor Jimmy T. Bagit was also present and gave an inspirational and congratulatory message. The graduation song "Lipad" by Lea Salonga was sung with passion by the graduates and as if proclaiming to the world that they will soar high and achieve something big not just for themselves but for God, for their country and for their family as well. "Basta't kaya mong isipin, kaya mong gawin... Maniwala sa iyong galing, abot mo ang bituin... lipad, lipad kaya mong lumipad”, says a portion of the song. Parents were also given tribute by the students with the simple song composed by Sir Alvin Lacawan. Teachers also sang “Ngayon pa lang Tagumpay ka na” and gave simple remembrance (a laminated picture of the teachers) to the graduates.
