2016 GFI Mindanao Outreach Report

Galing Foundation, Inc.Mindanao Outreach Report featuring school recipients of educational resources donated from partners in Atlanta. We are thankful to the support of the GFI Mindanao Outreach Coordinator Jocelyn Robles and volunteers, our local government partners thru Sulong Sarangani Program under the Office of Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon, the Department of Education-Sarangani Schools Division, Lamlifew Integrated School c/o Sir Ireneo Caya, Amado M. Quirit Sr. National High School c/o Maam Cecil Paydue/Cecil Duero, and Maligo Elementary School c/o Sir Ranis.

Thank you as well to Queen of Angels Catholic School, members of the Cross of Life Lutheran Church, some members of Cross Culture Church, and individual donors for the educational resource materials sent in 2016.

 Arjho is the GFI Mindanao Outreach Director and a half-Blaan herself. The GFI Mindanao Outreach Schools in South Cotabatao and Sarangani Province are predominantly Blaans and some are Tbolis.

Mini exhibition of cultural materials from South Cotabato and Sarangani Province as focused GFI MIndanao Outreach areas. Books on weaving was also featured to highlight its relevance on the weaving culture of the Blaans. Photos of students from Lamlifew Integrated School were also featured.

Arjho, GFI Mindanao Outreach Director, with daughter Hannah joined by Fil-Am community leaders in Atlanta along with Philippines Honorary Consul General Ray Donato and the event organizers from Filipino American Communications Employees (FACES) of AT&T. 

 Arjho is an active cultural advocate focused on sharing the both the Blaan and Tboli Indigenous Peoples Groups of the Philippines. Being half-Blaan herself, she does more on the Blaan cultural advocacy. The recipient schools of GFI Mindanao outreach since 2008 are predominantly Blaans and some are Tbolis too in the province of South Cotabato and Sarangani Province.

Books Turned Over to Kiahe Integrated School



Sulong Karunungan Program staff under the office of Sarangani Provincial Governor Steve Chiongbian-Solon turned over some educational resources to Kiahe Integrated School Head Teacher Rennie Quiachon. The school is located in far flung Barangay Kinam, Malapatan, Sarangani Province.

Luyao.
